MINING ECONOMIST

As a Mining Economist, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth economic and financial analysis of mining projects and fiscal regimes, providing insights on project economics, with a particular emphasis on government revenue. Working closely experts in the field, you will play a key role in shaping our consulting firm's work in resource-rich countries.

A Canadian boutique consulting firm, experimenting sharp growth is looking to expand its team of part-time consultants. This is a full remote opportunity, and you will collaborate with colleagues accross the  globe. The number of hours are not guarantee on this role and may vary. This is a long-term opportunities, with several projects on which the minig economist can contribute over the next few years.

Economic Modeling: Utilize advanced economic models and contract analysis to evaluate fiscal regimes, assess specific projects, forecast natural resource revenues, and identify potential pathways to government revenue loss in the mining sector.

Mining Project Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis of mining projects, including technical evaluation, financial structuring, and risk assessment, to determine their economic viability and potential for financial success.

Data Management: Collect, manage, and analyze data related to mining projects, fiscal regimes, and government revenue to ensure accuracy and reliability in our economic analyses.

The role also involves collaboration with the team, and may later encompass the production of client-ready reports and presentations, 

Required education:  

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field (Master's preferred).

Required Work experience: 

 At least five years’ experience as a Mining Economist, with a strong background in fiscal regime analysis and mining project economics.

Required Knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of mining industry economics, commodity markets, and economic indicators.

Proficiency in advanced financial modeling and data analysis tools.

Independant consultant contract
