Petroleum Economist/Engineer

Part-time Consulting Job Opportunity for Petroleum Engineering / Economic Analysis 

Seeking a Petroleum Engineering / Economic Analysis Consultant capable of preparing (and leading) upstream oil and gas industry discount cash flow analyses with an emphasis on government fiscal terms (normally - but not always production sharing contracts). 

Work to be carried out on a part-time contract basis from the candidate’s home location. 

Details of the requirement for this position are:
5-10+ years of experience in petroleum engineering / economics. MBA is a plus.

Work is carried out in English. Knowledge of another language (especially French, Spanish and Portuguese) would be an asset. 

Scope of work to include as much as possible of the following:
1. Reserves determination by studying publicly available information from the country, operators and analogues from the web.
2. Creation of conceptual development scenarios for those reserves in various (mainly African) countries in onshore and offshore locations with various geographical challenges and with a variety of levels of maturity of their oil and gas industries.
3. Studying the level of maturity of actual development plans in order to determine a realistic star-u time for any conceptual development(s).
4. Determining likely oil price, LNG price and gas price for the hydrocarbons produced by the conceptual development(s).
5. Generation of production profiles from reserves and knowledge of the local environment for the concept development(s).
6. Generation of capital expenditure estimates for the conceptual development(s) by studying analogue fields from the web.
7. Generation of operating cost estimates for the development(s).
8. Creation (or adaption) of economic models, for country studies or government revenue risk analysis, for a variety of fiscal regimes from information in production sharing agreements.
9. Running economic models and validating results in support of fiscal regime and government revenue studies.
10. Review and audit of economic models by other analysts.
